Stuff like this makes me sad that our spending priority went to overpriced tanks and asshole foreigncountries.

A true wonder that feels like somehow we have forgotten as a people that we did that.

I've worked with many folks who were involved in the space program and it's sometimes a little sad to see all the futures planned that we'll likely never see.

@John, there's more short term advantage in shooting or bribing folks. Exploration is a risky and difficult procedure to get quick returns on.

@John - Defense spending was nearly 50% of government spending in 1968 and foreign aid is a drop in the bucket.

Our country spends more on aid to potential enemies and countries that harbor enemies than we do on space exploration.
