Adventures Dark and Deep Bestiary Kickstarter now live!

Well, here we are: the last of the core rulebooks for Adventures Dark and Deep™. The Kickstarter campaign for the Bestiary is now live. What a wonderful trip it's been!

The goal to get the book out is pretty modest; $1,500. But that's for a book with little internal art.

For every $25 that's raised past the initial goal, one monster gets illustrated. There are around 900 monsters in this sucker. That's a lot of art.

Please check out the Kickstarter page, and help spread the word far and wide. Even if you don't play Adventures Dark and Deep™, you're going to want this book, if only to get all those monsters in the same place, and compatible with most OSR-type games.

Adventures Dark and Deep™ is my attempt to explore what the world's most popular role-playing game might have looked like if Gary Gygax had been allowed to keep developing it, rather than leaving TSR in 1985. It's based entirely on his public statements on his plans for the game, and other writings.

Awesome. Now all I gotta do is pick out a monster. I'm kinda partial to the ettercap . . .

So, when will the GMT be making an appearance?

The GMT is going to today for file approval and generation of proofs. So I'm shooting to have it out before the end of May.

Now all I need to do is convince you to put together a steampunk accessory for it and all will be right with the world.

You should keep a running list of what creatures have been sponsored.

I can't log into Kickstarter at work (because I initially did with Facebook) but once I'm home I'll be in at the $150 level (maybe $225 if I crunch the numbers right) as I went PDF only on the PM.

Will all levels that get books get PDFs of those books?

One final note...a key reason I'm willing to go in at the level I am is the fact that the text is written. Also influential was the fact I got the PM early (I'm sure in no small part because you had it written first). Yes, your material is great but so are a lot of other people who I don't Kickstarter trust (for those who remember "I don't Torg trust you" from Pyramid years ago).

Herb: Yes, pdfs are included for all levels that include hard copies of books (softcover or hardcover).

Many thanks for the vote of confidence, btw. I make it a point never to hit Kickstarter until everything is ready to go, except the bits that I have to pay other people to do.
