A Little Ambition is a Good Thing

Q: How many Darlene-sized maps would it take to cover the Oerik map from Dragon Annual #1?

A: Seventeen

Now if it was Gygax's actual map of Oerth, I'd say let's get some brushes and paint and let's go!

I'll have to be content with working on my Yggsburgh map.

Like so much of Greyhawk, it's actually part of canon now, so it's what I've got to work with.

There are also ways to work in a lot of the Gygax material from the Gord the Rogue books into this framework, to make it work pretty well, even to my High Gygaxian standards.

There's been a lot of discussion over at Canonfire! lately.

What you have to work with?

May the great hawk of the galaxy bless your planet!

I can't fathom taking on a global perspective to my campaign yet. I guess it doesn't hurt to plan ahead. I'll have to check out Canonfire!, even if it is centered on Greyhawk.

Good god 17 maps. And some of those maps are completely landl-locked. Ugh, I hate that Pangea sized blob of a world map. Canonfire yes, is a hot bed for mapping talent and feedback.
I agree with Joe on the Gord references. They are obscure enough yet grounded in the setting and as such interest me more and more to develop than half the stuff on that Dragon Annual map.

It would be great to have one of those poster display racks, that can be flipped through, showing each poster map seperately.

I must remember this for my next game room!

I see what you did there...

On a related note, check out the great work the Old Guy is doing in Campaign Cartographer 3 recreating Darlene's Greyhawk maps: http://forum.profantasy.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=2831&page=1#Item_0

Yeah, Allan. My version is going to be quite a bit different than that!
